Alabama Arise uses three interconnected approaches to advance public policy: policy analysis, statewide organizing, and citizen advocacy. Through Arise, groups and individuals work together to promote policies that improve the lives of Alabamians marginalized by poverty. Its membership includes faith-based, community, nonprofit, and civic groups, as well as grassroots leaders and individuals from across the state. Members select the organization’s annual legislative agenda, focusing on the issues that matter most in alleviating poverty and its effects. Alabama Arise envisions a state where all people live with concern for the common good and respect for the humanity of every person.
