Do We Live in a Democracy?

We frequently hear that “our democracy” is being threatened, but rarely does anyone question that we have a democracy. The talk will address the question of whether, and to what extent, the United States is a democracy.

David is a semi-retired civil rights lawyer and long-time social justice and anti-imperialist activist. He is a past president of the National Lawyers Guild and current chair of its Alabama chapter. David was a founder and chair of the Birmingham Peace Project in opposition to the Gulf War. As an anti-Zionist, he is proud of his Jewish heritage and was board chair of the Alabama chapter of CAIR.
